Entries have now closed for the first Rotary Forest of Dean short story competition for children, partnering with Dean Scribblers and Dean Writers Circle.

The competition is open to children aged between 7 and 18, living in or attending school in the Forest of Dean District Council area.

We are thrilled to announce the long-listed entries for our 2023 Rotary Dean Scribblers Short Story competition.

Many thanks for all your entertaining stories, and congratulations to those who made the long list. If your story isn’t here, don’t be discouraged. Judging is a very subjective task, and we hope you will keep entering competitions, including this one next year.

Wishing all these young writers the best for the next phase of the competition.
