Rotary at Scarr Bandstand
On July 23, the Scarr Bandstand held their annual Hospital Saturday where two Forest brass bands played to help raise money for the Friends of Dilke and Lydney hospitals. This event was supported by a sponsorship grant from the Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean.
The Scarr Bandstand is a delightful natural amphitheatre with a grassy slope giving great visibility to the audience. Members of the Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean were on hand to provide a visible presence in the field and to assist with car parking.
The Ross Town Band and the Forest of Dean Brass Band provided a programme that filled the afternoon. Entry was free but a collection was taken. Refreshments were available and a minibus shuttle provided access from the car park at the top of the hill for disabled audience members.
